We are foodies from Seattle planning a week long trip to the Kona side of the Big Island in January. Our toddler will be with us, and I'm contemplating whether a luau is a completely stupid idea. I think our toddler would enjoy the show, and I have to admit that I would too (I almost hate to admit it).
What is the quality of food like at the best luau? I have read in several spots that Kona Village does the best, but I'm sure you'll tell me if you disagree. We love fresh food and would be happy to eat fresh food prepared simply, but I'm not excited about spending 100/head on a crappy steam table buffet.
