long shelf life milk

I admit it, I keep parmalat in the house. With kids , we always have milk for cereal if we run out of the regular stuff. There is really something to be said for not having to leave home for milk early on a Sunday morning when you forgot to get it the night before.

But I just cannot abide the stuff in a cup of coffee - it seems to have an off taste, maybe bittersweet... I can't place it... And its worse if you heat it, e.g., for cafe con leche...

Are there any other long shelf life milks that are widely available that don't taste so bad?
