Lily Bistro in Rockland opens May 1

Lynette Mosher and Robert Krajewski will open Lily Bistro on May 1 (former site of Amalfi).

Plans call for "sophisticated dishes such as moules Provencal, steak tartare, cave-aged cheeses and veal blanquette." Likely early summer specials to include rabbit wrapped in spinach and caul fat, champagne-poached Maine shrimp in thyme crepes with pea tendril salad, Maine halibut with arugula pesto and pignoli gnocchi, etc. Atmosphere to be casual. Prices for dinner entrees projected at $16-20.

Both Mosther and Krajewski have impressive backgrounds, with stints at Olives, Clio, Radius, Biba, Pignoli, Chez Henri, Pigalle, etc. They plan to source locally.

Hours will be Tues.--Sat. 11:30 --2:30 and 5:30 to 9 p.m., Sunday dinner only. Website, www.lilybistromaine.com, isn't active yet. Phone is 207-594-4141.
