Went for the second time to Lil' Frank last nite. We tried lots of things and really had a great meal. The pizza is quite good. We loved the sausage and wild fennel pie, a drizzle of spicy olive oil really jazzes up the pies. The wood oven charred whole eggplant side is so tender you need to scoop it out with a spoon, the spinach side has a nice coating of crispy cheese on top and the Lil' Frank salad with whole celery roots, fennel, beets, arugula, tomatos and zuchini was simple yet interesting.
BUT, the special desert was the winner. Basically its a pizza crust with nutella, sliced strawberries, a bit of liquore and fresh cream in the middle and another pizza crust on top. The whole thing is placed in the wood burning oven, cooked thru and dusted with powdered sugar, sliced into triangle pieces and served hot and crispy - yummy (and Im not a desert person).
