Levi's Port Cafe

dceats | Dec 4, 2004 03:35 PM

Just had my third delicious meal at Levi's Port Cafe in SE. BBQ is one of my weak points (i try to eat veg. most days) so I tried it. Damn good stuff. North Carolina style bbq. Mac and Cheese was like my grandmother made (I'm from the South). They have sweet tea too. Talked to the manager/owner-- they;ve run a place in Oxon Hill for years. I recommend the cobblers, cornbread, cole slaw, and pulled pork. My partner and our friend both had smothered pork chops and commented favorably. It's more family-style then dress up. It's at the southern end of 8th SE past all the Finn McCool's and Banana Cafes, etc.
