Finally got to one of their Tues. nite tastings for syrah/shiraz and it was fun. I recommend calling early for an 8:00 reservation since the 6:00 folks (us) had to be out to make room for round 2. And the 8PM sold out a week in advance, for this wine at least (you can see their schedule at leszygomates.com). In any case, we got four decent pours of wines from Australia, France, Washington and Calif. and the guy Jeff doing it was very informative and entertaining. Ian Just did a cooking demonstration with monkfish, showing us how ugly it was beforehand, then we had three additional tastes after that. It was all very good but taste is the operative word. Also got duck, tenderloin and a bit of sausage wrapped in pastry, plus some great baguettes and butter that were wolfed down. Still a good deal for $25 including tax and tip. I ended with a giant M&M cookie from Pizza Oggie on the way home.
