The best Lebanese food ever

Just Larry | Mar 20, 200507:04 PM

Had lunch today at Alcazar in Encino today. There were at least 200 people in this giant, hugely popular restaurant. I think we were the only non Middle Eastern people there. Everyone was dressed to the nines with lots of very well behaved children. We were not very familiar with the Lebanese names of the dishes so I suggest you go the their web site where all of the dishes are explained and many include pictures. The servers are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant menu does not include pictures, just the web site, so be forwarned. 3 of us pigged out and ordered: Hummos Alcazar, Baba Ghannouj, Warak Enab, Falafel (cooked to order), Halawet Eljeben, and Osmanlieh. Every dish was the best version of that dish that I have ever far. The menu is huge and I can see myself coming here often. Make sure that you arrive before 1:30 for lunch or you will not get a table. It reminded me of Ocean Star as far as the crowds. If you want to get adventurous, they have Lamb Testicles, Brain, Tongue, Frog Legs, Quail, Liver and other delicasies.
