Le Creuset - Scratches and abrasions on underside of new pot after just two uses

After two uses of my brand new LC dutch oven, I've noticed terrible scratches and abrasions on the bottom of the pot. It's a combination of small scratches and patches of scuffing, and spots where the outer glaze has been entirely stripped away (not the colored enamel itself). A very disheartening find for someone who's been dreaming of LC for years and has finally saved up and splurged. I'm really bummed the enamel is so incredibly delicate - I thought LC pots would be virtually indestructible both in terms of the integrity of its performance as well as its looks. I understand even the best cookware requires proper care, but all things considered these scratches seem frankly inevitable.

I will say that I have an electric coil stove, but I doubt the coils are any more abrasive than the grills of a gas range.

Should I be worried that the abrasions will only spread even if I only lift and place the pot instead of sliding it on the burner (as I often do when adjusting the pot to fit correctly over the burner)? Do all other LC owners have similar markings on the bottom of their pots?

Many thanks in advance!
