Just wanted to single this one out as by far the best meal of the trip ... from start to finish!
While we both found Aux Bon Crus amazing last night, along with Kevin the nicest of hosts who took great care of us, tonight was just really special.
From the gorgeous intimate design of this historic space, to the warmest of greetings inviting us to a small two-top at the end of the bar, the entire eve was picture perfect!
I started with an interestingly spicy Frida margarita before we started the meal with fritto misto and the crab galette ... o.m.g. was THAT good. We just asked for glasses of wine cuz Maria taking it easy ... so not sure what but a delicious white that I ended up having three glasses of. :)
And then the Sea Bass guerande salt crust for two .... amazing! Maria ate it plain ... I enjoyed the tomato etc etc oil accompaniment.
We finished the meal off with the Mille-feuille and wow!
As always, what truly makes a hospitality experience was the service - and tonight we had five folks who not only are the most consummate professionals, but also five cool young folks who just really love what they are doing.
As an aside, that professionalism across restaurant categories here in Paris is really making an impression this trip ... while I was clearly aware of the “concept” previously, I think on this trip am appreciating it more in earnest.
