Just picked up the June 2003 issue of Washingtonian magazine featuring the latest 100 bargain restaurants.
Does anyone have any opinions on the list this year, those that make it every year, restaurants on the Outgoing list?
There are several places I haven't tried yet that I will this year come hell or high water like Bejarong, Cajun Bangkok, Cuban Corner, and Hee Been; though of course that's just off the top of my head. Of those I have tried, I'm addicted to Louisiana Express. Chipotle, which has gotten mixed reviews, here made the list so you have to wonder if consistency is an issue. I don't agree with That's Amore but then there are several locations and the one I went to may have been a dud.
I was surprised to see Baja Fresh on the list of Outgoing. I suspect it's a location thing because the one in Columbia and Silver Spring both serve yummy burritos for a good price (one is easily split between 2). My only complaint would be that it's time to update the menu; weed out the stuff not working so well and bring in some new Mexican treats.
So, what do you all think?
P.S. Does anyone know what criteria is used to select restaurants by the magazine (total price includes what)?
