Brief report on Las Vegas:
Trattoria Lupo (Puck) in Mandalay Bay: Food was excellent. Risotto (with black truffles) was cooked just right and the tiramisu was one of the best I have ever had. Nice and reasonable wine list. Service was lacking. Pinot Noir listed under white wines?? Servers brought 3 dishes not ordered, etc.
Mesa Grill (Flay) in Caesars. Food was excellent. Duck pancake appetizer was superb. Pork tenderloin entree was spectacular, with just a hint of heat. Good, varied wine list. Nice selection of wines by the glass. (Try the Zin and the Chateau-neuf-du-Pape.) Service was efficient and pleasant.
Both reasonably priced.
