Moved to Bucktown/Wicker Park three weeks ago and was told by a friend to try Las Palmas on North Avenue. It looks tiny from the outside, but has a back room and a great patio. I have already been there four times! May not sound like a lot to some, but I am not into repetitive eating. Everything my dining partners and I have tried has been wonderful. However, the best thing I've eaten (and will continue to order) is the carne asada al carbon. I know it as "Tampiquena" from the Mi Casa restaurant in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. (Go if you're ever down there!) It is perfectly marinated and truly cooked to the way you request it. Slice it up and throw it on some fresh corn tortillas with guacamole--outstanding! I must also note that the service has been friendly and attentive on all of my visits. Definitely try it if you're in the area.
