Langston Bar and Grill in NE DC

Steve | Jun 9, 201806:21 PM     2

After years of being curious aobut this place, I finally made it to Langston Bar after visitng Carne y Arena on Benning Rd., NE.

I was put off by many damning Yelp reviews, and the menu is vastly reduced from what it once was.... maybe that's a good thing. I guess there's a dining room upstairs, but I stuck to the smalll downstairs bar. I ordered a shrimp po boy and collard greens.

This was a deeply stisfying meal. The shrimp were fat, very lightly breaded, and cooked to a perfect golden color. I am not sure what makes it a po boy, but this was wonderful. The greens were very smoky, and with a bit of salt, pepper and hot sauce, they were also sublime. The food was served piping hot. I could not have asked for a better experience.
