Hi Chows and Chowettes-
I just had to stop by the new La Belle Vie, only
been open a week or two, you can smell the fresh paint! I went to the bar/lounge that has a more limited menu, just to check it out, and kind of like my trip to Five, I had a limited time and told them that- had to get home to see Commander in Chief! I had
a very charming French waitress who asked me "So, Madame is a writer?" I laughed and said "no, why?" and
she replied "you look like one...and you talk like one" I decided it was a compliment. Anyway, I had
the baby vegetable fondue- a nice assortment of cold cooked and raw veggies- raw baby carrots with stems on, some raw sliced fennel, and some tiny cooked beets and potatoes, with a most delicious dish of warm fondue made with Morbier cheese, butter and truffle oil. There were also some croutons of french bread with it. Wish I had the recipe for the fondue,
I would bottle it. Very accomodating of my time constraints. I definitely recommend it based on my one dish experience.
