Korean rice-cake parlor coming to Centreville?

According to the Centreview fishwrap, a new Korean-style mini-mall called Grand Plaza has opened near the Old Centreville Crossing Shopping Center and is slated to include a "Korean-style rice cake parlor."

This is monumental news. Rice cakes are the greatest form of pasta ever invented -- even better than chow fun -- and they are hard to find. GrandMart once carried some Korean instant soup bowls with rice cakes but when I exhausted my supply and went back for more I couldn't find them. 8>(

I have gone to Chinese restaurants in Boston and ordered what I thought were rice cakes only to be served another kind of noodle. Then I heard that one of the stalls at the Hong Kong Eatery in Chinatown made a fantastic rice cake stir fry dish. I tried drawing a rice cake finally just asked the proprietor to bring out several kinds of noodles until she brought out a rice cake. When I went back to that place on my next visit to Boston, the stall was gone. 8<(.

Ahh the joys of chowhounding.

Here's a link to a rice cake guide.
