Restaurants & Bars

Just wanted to share my opinion of Komi. We had dinner there about a week ago and were extremely pleased - and we are very picky restaurant goers. Particularly enjoyed the chicken-pistachio pate - it went very nicely with the mustard they served it with. Our entrees - hangar steak and skate were both very good - the sweet potatoes with the steak were spectacular. We finished off with a cheese plate - which included one of the best blues I've ever had, and then finally tried the donut/hot chocolate dessert. I am a huge chocolate fan, but find most chocolate desserts offered in DC restaurants boring. This dessert was great - the mexican chocolate had a nice, complex flavour that went perfectly with the donuts. They have a nice, unusual selection of wine by the glass. Prices are very reasonable for what they offer, I think. Service was good, but not fawning. Simple decor, simple, well done food - in those respects it reminded me of Obelisk. I'm really happy to have this restaurant in my neighborhood!
