King of Kebabs and Sweets in Backlick Plaza, Springfield, VA

I know a few CHs have explored this area but it's constantly changing and there must be over a dozen little restaurants in this shopping center alone. There's a new Hot Bakes and Cakes, a french and southern asian bakery/restaurant that looks interesting. But, we decided to try the King of Kebab and Sweets on the left shopping center. It doesn't look like much from the outside but was very good. There is a standard buffet, which most people seemed to be getting but we ordered off the board. It seems like a mix of indian and middle eastern kebab type food. I had the chicken chapati over rice, salad and chana masala w/ a side of naan. It was all excellent. It seemed more like home made type food than restaurant prepped. It was like eating at someone's house--piping hot naan, probably cooked to order, the chapati were well seasoned and tasty. My husband had the king kebab platter w/ chicken and lamb and enjoyed both. The chana masala was probably my favorite part of the meal. The salad could have been left off--just a few leaves of ice berg lettuce, slices of onions. It was definitely not an extensive menu but had more than enough selections. There was a dessert section but we were way to full to try anything. Next time, though.
