Kashmir: Very Good Newbury St. Indian

Haven't been out to eat Northern Indian in a very long while. Went to Kashmir today and overall, was very impressed. Care was taken with the food and it showed. Compared to Tanjore and Namaskar(our go-tos), the chicken tikka masala and onion kulcha were quite good. The chicken was moist and not dry as in many places; the saucing was rich and unctuous and its spicing was well balanced. And their pakora and okra were considerably better than at the other two spots. The pakora were freshly fried and not the leaden reheated things you often find. My Love particularly liked his Tandoor Lamb rack w/ spicy cauliflower curry . Surprisingly, the basmati rice was very dull. Their prices are high (Newbury St ) but if you are in that neighborhood and want Indian, the food is v. good. The cellar location is cool and they have sidewalk umbrella tables.
