Previously we've shared sightings of ji mao cai (chicken feather vegetable) at Shanghainese restaurants. And that none have been spotted for retail sale.

Last week I bought ji mao cai at Marina Food in Cupertino. At $3.49 per pound, it's about double the price of other greens there. These were more mature and larger than what I've been served in restaurants. There were some of the smaller leaves in the mix, but not much. The taste seemed stronger with more bite than I recall eating at restaurants.
