Japanese Seasonal Eel at Kai

I'm considering whether a visit to Kai might be warranted to sample the time-limited (through this Saturday) hammo (seasonal sea eel) menu.

The menu is $100/person, but does not contain hammo in every dish. However, it does include Kobe (query whether Kobe or some form of US-nurtured Wagyu) steak.

Do posters have recent experience with sampling hammo in NYC, or with other dishes at Kai? (I previously sampled hammo at Jewel Bako, under the prior chef.)
