No Izakayas in Midtown? How about a substitute?

Navarro | Nov 6, 2005 04:29 PM

While living in Tokyo for a short time, got into the habit of going out to these friendly pub-type places with small plates of all kinds of delicious bites and enjoying many drinks while chatting with the locals after work.

Wish there were one here in Midtown or Gramercy.... The E Village ones are a little too full of student groups, rather than business people over 35, like me.

Thoughts on a substitute for the absent Midtown izakaya? Friendly, lively, small plates, business people over 35 enjoying socializing? Irish pubs I suppose might be the closest thing...
