Italo Ottinetti Aluminum

Angelus2013 | Jan 20, 201902:00 PM     13

Does anyone have any experience with this Italian brand? I found three bare aluminum frying pans being sold at TJMaxx. Originally sold for about $20, they've been marked down to $15. They sure look nice with their brass handles and all but not so sure of the product as a whole. The pans are only about 3mm thick in total and the brass handles are just barely heavier than the pan so they tip somewhat. Just a simple deglazing seems to have warped the pan somewhat. Cooking performance seems okay. Definitely sticks less than stainless steel but in a rather odd sort of way. When I get an egg to release from a stainless steel pan, when you tip the pan the egg will slide around. Eggs don't do that on this pan. It's as if the brushed aluminum interior is gripping it on some level.
