Years ago, my Italian neighbor made CASSATA SICILIANA for me.It was deliciously rich, and seemed very exotic to me at the time.
She made it from pound cake (store bought,I think), and used Strega to moisten the layers.
Please share your recipes if you have them. Our local Italian bakeries make a version, but not that great. There is one bakery in Bensonhurst that makes them in all different sizes.So, I would love to attempt my own...please help!
I tried Google, but the recipes are in Italian, and my Italian is not that reliable.
