ISO chocolate with smooth coconut filling

noodles | Nov 28, 200506:06 PM     5

It's not that I don't like coconut flavor, because I do. I just hate chewing on the little flakes of coconut with my chocolate. It's distracting.

Today, a co-worker shared a box of chocolates from Ireland (I think the box said LIR). I picked the darkest looking piece, hoping against hope that it'd be filled with dark chocolate ganache.

Anger and disappointment flooded my being when I bit off the first bite and discovered a white filling. Bleh. White chocolate, I thought. I was halfway out my office door, ready to chuck the remainder at my co-worker and demand another piece. But then, the flavor hit me! It was a smooth, coconut-flavored filling with the texture and smoothness of ganache. It didn't taste at all like white chocolate or that yogurt stuff that sometimes masquerades as white chocolate. It was delicious!

Do any SF chocolatiers make something similar? If not, someone should! Maybe if I cause enough of a ruckus at the Ferry Building someone will make it to placte me.
