International, authentic pastries near Pasadena

Osvaldo | Jan 13, 2004 04:36 PM

I am putting together a dessert reception for about 80 people. I am trying to include a wide variety of pastries from around the world, particularly from historic places here in SoCal. So far, I have plans to get mochi from Fugetsu-do, various Cuban desserts from Porto's, Chinese treats from Phoenix Bakery, Filipino desserts from Goldilocks & Red Ribbon, Middle Eastern sweets from Baklava Factory, and various Mexican desserts from La Mascota & El Gallo. People will be standing at the reception, so I'm looking for desserts they can hold in their hand.

Any other suggestions would be welcome, particularly from bakeries/pastry shops with authentic European pastries. I'd also prefer not to have to drive more than 15 miles from Pasadena. Thanks.
