Inspiration Cafe - May 30th - Update/Menu/Details

Can you believe how time flys! Our meal is nearly here. On Thursday May 30, 2002, some Chicago hounds are turning the tables and cooking a meal. Our victims our the guests at the Inspiration Cafe.

Our meal will probably consist of the following:

Soup prepared by ReneG (and friend)

Mac n'Cheese prepared by DaveH and Frannie

Smoked Brisket and Cole Slaw prepared by Mr. VI

Home made banana bread derived from bananas that have been spending days getting thoroughly mushy, prepared by MikeG (sans foam)

Genuine stawberry shortcake, featuring absolutely fresh stawberries and freshly whipped cream[believe me, the stawberries cost more than the brisket!], prepared by Joan

I guess if anyone has any inclination, we could throw in another veg, although as the above menu suggests, I think we are fine.

If anyone wants to bring/drop off their favorite bbq sauce that would be fine too, as the Inspiration Cafe does not have any.

Zim and Harry V. have donated directly to the Inspiration Cafe. If anyone else wants to do the same, their particuliars our below.

If you want to be able to reach me on Thursday, you can e-mail me for my cell phone number. You can also call the Inspiration Cafe after 4 pm.

The kitchen will be available to us starting at 4 pm, with dinner service starting at 6 pm. I will not be there at 4 pm exactly. If you precede me, the volunteer coordinator's name is Harry (no golf reference, however). We are listed under chowhounds.

Joan's already come up with a bunch of questions that I could not perfectly address. She suggested bringing your own apron if desired.

If anyone wants to come over to the bungalow to help with the briskets, please e-mail as well.
