My family lives in Boston now, but fifteen years ago, when we lived in Iowa City, we'd often get a spectactular dessert that I'd love to identify. It was Lithuanian, I think; a cake or torte with a zillion layers of pastry and cream with a subtle under-flavor I could never quite identify (Lemon? Pineapple?)The co-op in Iowa City brought it in, I think, from Chicago. Anyone know? Maybe I should call the co-op, but I can't remember what it was called, and I don't know if it still exists. I'd so appreciate any leads! Thanks.
