Huong Lan in the new LION in Newark

Tried this place last night, saw many shelves stocked with Vietnamese goodies but many still empty. Not as well stocked as the SJ places. Prices are okay. White pork sausage is $1.25 and taste good and peppery.

Many lighted pictures on the well so you can choose your liking. We sat down on a table and ordered #17, a red coloured soup (from tomato) with pieces of fish and shrimps and plenty of thin vermicelli noodles. This was recommended by the waiter as a special but to me it's nothing special. The broth lacks flavor and the fish not as fresh, same with the shrimps.Skip that item next time !

The sandwich, meatball is another story. Good crunchy bread and the meatball filling is nice. Not as tasty I like but still good.

Any other items good here ?
