Hungry on East 30's, NYC

I"m looking for a high-quality food --not necessarily designer fancy, or dress-up fancy-- eatery in the East lower/mid 30's or UPPER 20's in Manhattan.
We're going to the movies at AMC KIPS BAY and want to eat afterwards. Nothing lower than 25 Street PLEASE!

Quality of the food is 100,000% more important than the quality of the atmosphere, the typface of the signage, the celebrities who get comp'ed there, the designer lighting sconces, the Rockwell-designed interior, etc.
That's what I mean by high quality --not necessarily fancy

We really like Artisnal but the place has really gone downhill; nosedived as a matter of fact... Apps and main courses arrive COLD --haven't they taught the new staff about warming plates??? -- and the help is not that professional and/or well-trained. VERY Long waits between courses.

There used to be an Aiello's chicken wing place on 32nd and 2nd but this joint switched owners and subsequently went under and was replaced with some sort of chicken parmasiana/;pizza joint. Doesn't look too appetizing and I'm sick of people subsituting chicken when VEAL is what is called for.
