My girlfriend and I moved to the North Shore back in June. We are both in the restaurant business and were excited to try Ithaki, part of the Great 8 Phantom Gourmet and as we were told one of the best Greek restaurants in New England. We looked at the menu online and were excited to try, hours listed as Sun-Thur 4-9 pm. We arrived exactly at 8 to nobody at the front door, waited a few minutes for a server to greet us and say "let me see if the kitchen is still open". A few moments later we heard from the back "so that's what you want me to tell them?" The server was obviously sent out to do the manager's or chef's job. When she came out she said "The kitchen is closing we will give you menus if you order quickly". Obviously we left as we were not in a rush and finished the 45 minute round trip back to Gloucester to Franklin St. Cafe for a 3 course meal and a bottle of mt. veeder cab (great restaurant and bar by the way). Moral of the story: if you don't want the business shame on you. No surprise to us that the website does not show accurate hours of operation and has no place for guests to share email feedback with the "owners".
