Hotel Utah disappointment

babyfork | May 5, 2003 08:36 PM

Awhile back I was following a thread about the good food at the Hotel Utah (The Meetinghouse connection and all that) and ever since I've been hankering to try it. I love bluegrass and alt country music too, so it seemed a perfect place to listen to some bands and get some GOOD bar food. Well, I ordered a burger on the rec of a fellow chowhound. First problem, I had ordered it medium rare and it was dry and well done. Nothing about it screamed "great burger" to me. The fried green beans were better. I little greasy, but good with the lemony aioli. I was ravenous when I finally got my burger and I had a couple of Jack & Cokes in me by then so I devoured the whole thing even though it was really a sub-par burger. The next day I could still taste the thing and it was not a pleasant experience. The other two diners I was with ordered different things and said they were OK, nothing special. On a positive note, the bartender was friendly and the drinks were strong...
