All that talk about Chinese restaurants yesterday got me jonesing for some good Chinese food, so we went to the Hong Kong Eatery in Chinatown last night.
The Hong Kong Eatery is a great little spot on Harrison Street that is a bit away from the hustle and bustle around Beach, Hudson, and Tyler Streets. I think because of its location, it isn't all that well known compared to some of the other restaurants in Chinatown.
The food was great last night. We had the Chinese-style dumplings with Hong Kong-style noodles, and the chicken chow foon with assorted vegetables. And the chicken fried rice was fantastic--nothing like the dried-out fried rice that you get in so many Chinese restaurants.
The people there are very nice. They speak little English, so there is a lot of pointing and gesturing for those of us who don't speak Chinese!
All in all, a great experience there last night.
