Hen House Bar-B-Que (Southington, CT)

westie | Apr 29, 201503:26 AM     2

Maybe the cook was having an off day, maybe it was because I ordered takeout or maybe it was just bad karma, but our recent meal was not quite as good as anticipated. I stopped by to order our meals and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. 15 minutes later on my return, our food was in process of being packaged to go - okay! Fast forward 8 minutes and we were seated at the dining room table with 2 orders of fried chicken: #2 white = 2 chicken breasts and #2 dark = a leg and thigh. The coating was a tad darker and less crispy than on my prior visit and the meat was notably drier. Each order included a small container of ground up coleslaw, an abundance of previously frozen French fries and an unneeded dinner roll. I am not inclined to rush back for another helping so maybe I will return in 2016 - just maybe.
2.5 Forks out of a possible 5.
