Head's up for Hedi's Place in Palm Springs

Went to this little patio restaurant in the Smoketree Plaza at Sunrise and E.Palm Canyon Drive - next to Ralphs and in the same patio as Le Crepe. Hedi's has been open a week and advertises that it serves Moroccean, French and Mediterranean food. Well we tried lunch - pretty late and they must have been jammed because the waiters looked kind of bushed but were very welcoming. We had a lamb tagine (delicious) ($8), I had a seafood crepe with real crab (6-7 dollars, I don't remember exactly) and we also shared a grilled Tunisian vegetable salad. Good food and servings but a bit salty - told the owner who said they had a new chef and were glad we mentioned this. They had a large lunch menu plus similar dinner menu - charming ambiance, very Morroceany. Just missed having mint tea with the meal. Don't know about wine availability, but this place is worth a visit - white tablecloths and napkins.

Le Crepe restaurant and bakery next door has pretty good food but at dinner I prefer not to eat on oilcloth for the kind of prices they charge.
