after a year of living up in harlem, right around the corner from les ambassades, i just expanded my les ambassades horizons in a totally delicious way--i went in craving beignets, but they only had cream filled ones, which i didn't want. so i got these small puffs coated with pretzel salt sized sugar chunks-- got home to realize that they were eggy popover-like puffs-- airy, light, and delicious. and 3 for $1! and i got a glazed raisin roll--crunchy outside with dried up baked raisins, and layers and layers of soft buttery insides. that and my super strong coffee (from home, not from there) made for an awesome breakfast.
