Made it to the Lion Plaza today to check out the crowds celebrating New Years. Fair amount of people were there trying to use firecrackers to blow away the clouds on a cool afternoon. There were a lot of vendors set up and selling sweets, fruit, plants, etc... There was not a lot of hot food on offer (outside of the restaurants and food court) but I did manage to get a freshly cooked and tasty green waffle. From the sign, I think I this is a Banh Kep La Dua. I would normally cough up the extra quarter for the premium version, but the bright green called to my Irish roots in a way the american mustard yellow waffle could just not match. A fun little diversion and recomeded for a little cultural exploration. Plus there are a lot of restaurants in the plaza and in the surrounding neighborhood. FYI the streets are packed and parking is tough.
I took a bunch of pics which you can see in the linked gallery if you are curious.
