Haitian Dinner at Le Creole - Sunday Oct 13 5pm?

Rene G | Oct 5, 200210:26 PM

About six weeks ago I suggested a get-together at Le Creole, a small southside Haitian restaurant. About 15 people responded. Sorry it’s taken me so long to organize this but recently I’ve been a lot busier than I expected. Today I finally visited Maurice at Le Creole and made some tentative plans.

We are thinking about Sunday, October 13 at 5pm. The menu is not set but I’m hoping to have a broad spectrum of Haitian dishes with a fair amount of seafood (not usually available without advance notice). We didn’t have a chance to discuss price as the place was quite busy but I’d guess in the range of $20 per person. We can bring our own wine (Maurice seemed to think this was an excellent idea).

Please let me know by the end of Wednesday, October 9 (either via email or post here) if you will be able to attend (yes or no, please no maybes). I told Maurice I’d make definite plans with him on Thursday and I’ll post the details by Friday. If you can’t make it on the 13th but are still interested please let me know when you could go. There is a chance we’ll have to reschedule so that information might be helpful. Any suggestions about the menu or anything else would be welcome.

Remember Le Creole is anything but fancy but the food is good. It should be a fun time and I hope lots of you will be able to be there. A link to an old post from March about Le Creole, with some mention of their Haitian specialties, follows in case you haven’t seen it before. Hope to see you on the 13th!
