Habana Cafe in Huntington Beach

Brian (OC) | Apr 23, 2004 08:43 PM

With the demise of Rafi's in Tustin a few years back I have been looking for a good Cuban place in Orange County to eat at.

I like Felix's but I found a place closer to where I live.

Habana Cafe is on Beach Bl. just south of Main St. - I think it used to be a Cajun restaurant.

I went for lunch and had one of my favorites Fricase de Pollo. It was a quarter dark meat chicken with half a potato and some bell peppers in a good sauce.

It came with rice and black beans (you can have Moros y Cristianos instead) and some fried sweet plantains.

I also had the tostones which I thought were great.

The rest of my group had The Ropa Vieja and Pollo Asado and they were also very good.

Has anyone else tried this place and was your experience similar?
