I went NEW GREEN BO today (Sat. around 1:00) for lunch with spouse for the first time. we had a slight wait to get in. great crab&pork soup dumplings! fun to eat and transporting even! but also great was the yellow fish and sea cucumber potage soup (q: the "potages" on the menu are the same thing as congee soup?). yellow, hot, yummy and filling. one order of soup and dumplings with tea was plenty for two and cost less than $15.
after walking around and having a beer in GOOD WORLD, we went to the essex market for mexican hot chocolate mix. before i try it, can anyone tell me the name of the mixer tool you put in the cup to foam it up en espanol? gracias. the package says to use a blender but i think there is a mexican spoon or tool, am i right about this?
finally, later on we had dinner at CAFE MOGADOR, mostly out of a wave of nostalgia & a craving for hummus. i had the merguez platter. the hummus & salad were fine, but the plentiful merguez was gristly and not so good. unfortunately i also had a bitter glass of cote de rhone as well. however, i didn't mind today and left fairly satisfied. my spouse had a fine prune/apricot chicken couscous tagine. she loved it but wanted more fruit in the dish. we vowed to make it at home sometime.
on the way home i got my favorite dessert of late, a taro bubble tea from ST. ALP'S, which in fact i am finishing up right now as i write :)
