It pays to be a regular at the tasty restaurant Ceiba downtown. I called a week before the date to reserve a table for six on a Saturday night recently and they squeezed us in (Note: reserve for large parties there well ahead of time because those tables go quickly) because I eat there a lot. The food really is excellent there as is the service. It was an early birthday celebration for my husband and they put "Happy Birthday Stan!" on the top of our menus and brought him out a complimentary dessert. Three of us had the lamb shank Feijoada, a Brazilian osso buco of sorts with black beans over rice and that was very tasty and juicy. Stan and I split the musselse appetizer with chorizo sausage and we loved the sauce so much we asked for a doggy bag to take home. One of us had the striped bass sevice which was very tasty and nicely presented in a bowl on a bed of rock salt. Stan had the whole snapper Veracruz, my favorite entree. Beware of bones though. They proved themselves yet again to be a topnotch restaurant at reasonable prices.
