We discovered a restaurant this weekend called Giano in the east village. Every dish we had was fantastic. Giano is the Italian word for Janus who was the Roman god of change and transitions, the past to the future. The menu reflects this as they have classic dishes such as Lasagn Bolognese and creative new dishes like what I treid - medallions of monk fish over shaved fennel, pineapple sauce. My partner had the Tagliolini con barttoga e tartufo nero - home made pasta cured with fish roe and black truffle. Both dishes were excellent. We can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu.
