Great Gelato/Sorbet in Princeton

Holy cow! I thought Il Laboratorio on Orchard St in NYC was the closest to true European gelato that I was going to get this side of the Atlantic, but no! The Bent Spoon, on Palmer Square in Princeton, surpasses it to an extraordinary degree. Unbelievable is all I can say. Well, that and... Dark chocolate--like eating real Euro chocolate, only it's ice-cream. Coffee streak, hazlenut, and choc mint, oh my! Mango like a mango lassi. Raspberry that tastes of late summer. Blood orange that tastes freshly squeezed. And on and on. The small (you can get two flavors, is $2.50, you get as much as you would at say, Thomas Sweet's small). PLUS, as if this weren't enough, the cupcakes are truly as good as mom's. My mom makes great buttercream frosting--not too sugary, yet also not too buttery. The owner said: take the taste test--ours v. Magnolia or Cupcake cafe. IMO--why both comparing???? Bent Spoon frosting rocks the house. Anyway, it's wonderful and they try to use local and organic products. Give it a try!
