Great Cheesesteak in Canton, CT

I just wanted to alert everyone to an amazing cheesesteak in Canton at Doogie's on Route 44 just past Canton Village (same side of 44) as you're traveling west. Doogie's opened in early February and seems to be doing a steady business. There was apparently another Doogie's in Windsor but it has reportedly gone out of business. They bill their cheesesteaks as "The Best Philly Outside Philly" and they just may be right. They come in 8 inch ($5.85) and 12 inch ($8.69) sizes. The bun is very good and they pack it with steak which a sign on the premises says is 100% angus beef. Add-ons include the usual onions, peppers, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, etc. at no extra charge. I really loved these cheesteaks and have had one each of the last two Saturdays for lunch. There is not much room inside Doogies to eat but I assume they will offer outside tables once the weather warms up. They also offer burgers, dogs, chicken sandwiches and fried seafood platters and rolls but I can't vouch for any of them since I only have eyes for the cheesteaks. Overall, a great addition to the Farmington Valley.
