Gravenstein Apple Fair, August 9 & 10

Melanie Wong | Aug 5, 200305:57 PM     3

Last night I had a cold, crisp and juicy Gravenstein apple, my first of the season. This one was mostly green with a bit of red shading, so it had that great tart/sweet balance that this fine flavored variety is known for. It was also a reminder that it was time for the annual blessing of the Gravenstein's post on this board.

The Gravenstein Apple Fair in Sebastopol is next weekend. This has been a fun chow outing in the past (see linked discussion below). I'll be there on Saturday and hope to see some 'hounds (wear your Chowhound T-shirts and badges to facilitate identification). For more info on the fair, check the Farm Trails website.
