Spent this evening at the Matterhorn Chef. 14 people having ordered the goose it was also on the menu for the special of the night. It was fabulous. The food course takes a 5 out of 5. Once you eat the relish platter unless you have the appetite of a lubmberjack you will pass on the appetizers. Service gets a 5 out of 5. Wine list gets a 2 out of 5 but we brought in our own wine ($12 corkage which is more than acceptable). I urge you to go to this wonderful restaurant in Sherman Oaks. This is a first class neighborhood restaurant. Translation: first class food and service but casual dress. It was almost like being in Munich. The goose will I understand be served for the holiday season. Price: food, corkage on 6 bottles of wine, two bottles of wine off the restaurant list, relish tray, goose with two types of dumplings, spaetzel, blaukraut and more, some coffees, some desserts, tax and tip came to $50 per person.
