A thank you for a good tip ... keeping dairy products fresh

This may have been on the Cooking board originally, not sure because I don't know quite how to search for it. But sometime ago someone posted that putting milk, cottage cheese, etc. in the back of the fridge (where it's coldest) would keep them fresh longer. I'm here to tell you that this really works and has saved me plenty of money. I was always throwing out souring milk, and molding cottage cheese, even before the "use by" date. How I've lived all these years without figuring it out for myself is beyond me. So a belated thanks, whoever you are. Maybe this will help someone who missed that post.
