We'll be visiting Quebec City from Toronto for 2.5 days (my husband and myself, we're a young couple so nothing too expensive...). I've read a bunch of the posts here and have nailed my food itinerary as follows:
Buffet de L'Antiquaire (Day 1 dinner) - for the meat pie and traditional Canadian platter?
Brynd Smoke Meat (Day 2 lunch) - for the smoked meat
Le Lapin Sauté (Day 2 dinner) - for the rabbit and duck
Le Billig (Day 3 lunch) - for the crepes
Restaurant Pain Béni (Day 3 dinner) - for the wild boar risotto
- L'Echaude (dinner) - for steak-frites
- Le Café-Boulangerie Paillard and Le Café du Monde (lunch)
Is this a good sampling of the local cuisine of Quebec City? Do I need to make a reservation at all of these restaurants? Any other "gems" that I should include but missed? I also have not included any place for breakfast and would appreciate suggestions in the lower town (we're staying at L'Hotel Belley).
Your advice is much appreciated!
