Good NY-type Pastrami in South Bay/Peninsula????

Larry | Oct 11, 200008:43 PM     6

As a transplanted New Yorker, I've found suitable stand-ins for most NY-type foods I miss especially Pizza (Giovanni's as well as Vito's in Sunnyvale!!). The one food I cannot find is New York-style deli! The best I've found is Saul's in Berkeley. But, living in Palo Alto, it is a long trip. Does anyone know of a place to get GOOD deli in the Peninsula or SOuth Bay? Max's is just OK, it is on a par with Brother's in Burlingame and The Jew and the Gentile in Mountain View. None of these is a very good substitute. The Stage Deli in Vegas (the one in Caesar's not New York, New York!) or Cantor's or Jerry's in LA are places I go to also. I would like something closer. Help!!!
