At our January Sichuan chowdown https://www.chowhound.com/post/chowdo... , "chowhoundX" shared his curiosity about Golden City Inn in the Bayview and the disconnect between its online menu and the appearance of the place. So, when I was in the neighborhood a few weeks later for lunch with my brother at Huli Huli, https://www.chowhound.com/post/huli-h... , we swung by Golden City Inn. Sure enough the take-out menu offers the Chinese-American standards, plus butter garlic crab and garlic noodles that seem to be the long-time specialty here. Yet when asked, the staff said that it can make Sichuan dishes as well.
The Eat24 menu linked below for Ye Cheng Du at the same address and phone number features Sichuan specialties with a smattering of Shanghainese and Hunan dishes. It's completely different than the take-out menu we were given. I've been checking it for the past couple months and the number of dishes has been increasing so presumably it's live.
Any 'hounds tried this place?
