My mother picked up a fairly large jar of this at a local Asian market a while ago. She had a mild stroke and doesn't do any cooking anymore, and I don't have any idea what she intended to use it for. It looks like it's mainly used as a condiment, but does it have any other uses? Can it be used to make kimchee, or is it too sweet? I haven't opened the jar yet, so I don't know what it tastes like.
